Made In Heaven 2: Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti created show coming back for a second season!

For all the fans of the Amazon Prime original show Made In Heaven, the good news is that the show will be coming back for season 2! I’m sure that everyone can’t wait to see what happens next in Tara's and Karan’s life.

The makers, Zoya AKhtar and Reema Kagti, have started working on the second season but there will be a new set of actors and it is unknown how many of the previous characters will continue on. Either way, considering how amazing writers and filmmakers these two ladies are, I’m pretty sure that the second season will dazzle us exactly like the first one did. But for all you people who haven’t seen the first season yet and are looking for a new series to binge, this is the perfect choice if you love drama with a hint of realism.

Made In Heaven is exactly the type of show you can binge-watch without feeling guilty about the fact that you’ve wasted the whole day. I’m usually very skeptic before watching a hindi web-series primarily because very few live up to my expectations. Netflix original Sacred Games was definitely an exception and was a remarkable watch as well as the recently released Delhi Crime. Amazon Prime is getting there with shows like Inside Edge and Made In Heaven.

Made In Heaven starred Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi. It is about two wedding planners, Tara and Karan, who run an agency called ‘Made In Heaven’. So why is this show worth watching:

1. It gives a behind the scenes picture of big fat Indian weddings

Each of the 9 episodes showcases a different couple getting married and all the scandals that occur in these weddings. Each story is different in its setting and unravels many social issues and values that still exist in the shadows in today’s supposed liberal India. It brings forth the harsh reality that there is still a long way to go for people to truly be progressive in their thinking. Apart from this, of course with every episode we get to see unique wedding ideas and beautiful décor that will definitely give us #weddinggoals.

2. Inspiring stories; not just about weddings

Apart from the societal issues, the show focuses on the professional and personal lives of the two main characters, Tara and Karan, who are partners in the ‘Made In Heaven’ wedding agency. From LGBT rights, to working women, power plays, stereotypes and social divide, the show has it all. It also narrates a complicated love story, by the end of which you can’t figure out who’s right and who’s wrong.

3. Amazing cast and characters

For me the most amazing part about this show was that it has a flawed woman in its lead. Gone are the days when women were supposed to be perfect and correct all the time. But not just Tara, this show depicted a range of flawed characters, all learning and growing with each hurdle that they pass. The actors all have done an amazing job in portraying these characters. Not once while watching this show would you feel bored or unconvinced with their acting. Each character has their own story to tell.

Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Alankrita Srivastava, Nitya Mehra and Prashant Nair do a marvelous job in telling this tale and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the next season. It’s already been touted as the best web series to come out of India so I hope the next season also breaks all boundaries!
